FARB Leadership Conference Focuses on Licensing Compacts
Attendees at the Federation of Associations of Regulatory Boards (FARB) Leadership Conference spent several hours Saturday morning discussing interstate licensing compacts. During the discussion, attendees heard from the following presenters:
- Crady deGolian, Director of CSG’s National Center for Interstate Compacts
- Jim Puente, Executive Director, The Nurse Licensure Compact
- Lisa Robin, Chief Advocacy Officer, The Federation of State Medical Boards
- Dia Gainor, Executive Director, The National Association of EMS Officers
The panel and subsequent discussions allowed attendees to learn broadly about interstate compacts, to hear first-hand about the Nurse Licensure Compact, which has now been adopted in 24 states, and to hear about ongoing efforts to explore and potentially develop an EMS and Medical Licensing Compact.
FARB serves as is a not-for-profit membership based organization that promotes public protection and provides a forum for information exchange for associations of regulatory boards and their affiliate stakeholders with interests in professional regulation.
